Yiqu[edit]

Moved to mainspace by Ximenez Kin (talk). Nominated by Zanhe (talk) at 04:27, 2 December 2017 (UTC).

  • New article moved to mainspace on November 30. Long enough. Cited, but many in non-ENG, so AGF effort by Ximenez Kin and Zanhe. Quick checks in [3] [4] confirm the basic facts and the existence of the article subject, so AGF justified. Earwig's finds copyvio unlikely. The map image in the article was uploaded in July 2017 with the right permissions. The hook length is okay, but there is a problem which needs clarification. @Ximenez Kin:, @Zanhe: this source states "she [Xuan] trapped and killed the king" (line 9 from top, page 33), while this source states "King Zhao killing the Yiqu king and..." (line 9 from bottom, page 42). We clearly cannot take sides per NPOV guideline. Please explain. Do we need to [a] fix the article to reflect these two viewpoints (right now, the article states she did it)? [b] fix/replace the hook to reflect a more neutral claim? • ALT1 ... that Yiqu was conquered by Qin after its king was killed by his mistress Queen Dowager Xuan, or by her son the king of Qin?
@Ms Sarah Welch: Traditional sources attribute the Yiqu king's death to Queen Dowager Xuan, while some (but not all) modern historians question that and believe it was more likely that her son, King Zhao of Qin, killed the Yiqu king. That's why I added "was said to" in the hook. The second source actually mentions both scenarios, and so does the article. I've added an ALT1 that mentions both possibilities. Hope that's ok. -Zanhe (talk) 06:11, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
for ALT1, per AGF as the cited sources are in foreign-language. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 13:23, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
