Template:Improper AfC redirect or category request/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A notification template for user talk pages explaining why you removed their edit to Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects or Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Categories.

Suitable for non-compliant edits that are good-faith in nature and do not warrant a warning but rather a friendly instruction.

Usage[edit]

You may either use:

  • {{subst:AfC redirect error}} ~~~~ by itself for the default message,

or you may add a page name and custom message as an optional parameter that will replace "Thank you.":

  • {{subst:AfC redirect error|PAGE_NAME|OPTIONAL_MESSAGE}} ~~~~

Twinkle[edit]

You can add this template to the custom warning list in your Twinkle preferences:

  1. Go to § Warn user
  2. Find "Custom warning templates to display:" and click the Edit items button
  3. Click the Add button
  4. In the left field "Template name (no curly brackets)" add AfC redirect error
  5. In the right field "Text to show in warning list (also used as edit summary)" you could add e.g. Error at WP:AFCRC
  6. Click the Save changes button on the dialogue box
  7. Click the Save changes button on the Twinkle preferences page

Alternatively, if you prefer to add the template manually to your Twinkle preferences stored in a subpage of your user page, the end result should look like this:

"customWarningList": [
      {
        "value": "AfC redirect error",
        "label": "Error at [[WP:AFCRC]]"
      }
    ],
