Infobox Judo technique may be used to summarize information about a Judo technique.

Usage

The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article and then filling in the desired fields. Any parameters left blank or omitted will not be displayed.

Parameters

It is not necessary to use all these parameters for any one technique. Use those parameters that convey essential and notable information about the technique. Any parameters left blank or omitted will not be displayed.

Parameter Explanation
Basic
name Common name of Judo technique (defaults to article name if left blank;).
image Image name: abc.jpg, xpz.png, 123.gif, etc. If an image is desired but not available, do not use placeholder images.
image_size
(imagesize)
Size to display image: 200px (set width), or 200x300px (max width & max height). This defaults to 200px width if empty or omitted.
alt Alt text for image, for visually impaired readers. See WP:ALT.
caption Caption for image, if needed. Try to include date of photo and the photographer.
class Judo techniques fall into different classifications. Research the technique to find in which class it is included.

Classifications: Nage-waza (throwing techniques), Katame-waza (grappling techniques), Atemi-waza (body-striking techniques), Uke-waza (blocks and parries), Ukemi (receiving techniques or breakfall techniques), Kinshi-waza (forbidden techniques).

sub_class Judo techniques are further divided into different sub-classifications. Research the technique to find in which sub-class it belongs.

Sub Classifications:
Nage-waza: Te-waza (hand throws), Koshi-waza (hip throws), Ashi-waza (foot throws), Sutemi-waza (sacrifice throws).
Katame-waza: Turtle turnovers, Osaekomi-waza (pins or matholds), Shime-waza (chokes or strangles), Kansetsu-waza (joint locks).
Atemi-waza: Ashi-ate-waza (leg striking), Ude-ate-waza (arm striking).

grip Judo uses a variety of grips to begin techniques, if one specific grip is used for the technique specify it here. If not leave blank or omit.
back_up Contingency Technique, if an initial attempt to execute a technique fails, Judo has techniques that can be executed as a "back-up plan". If such a back-up technique exists for the article technique include it here.
follow_up Successive Technique, often a technique ends with an opportunity to execute a follow-up technique, include well known examples here. Alternately, a technique may also describe a position, in this case briefly list major techniques commonly executed from this position.
targets Specify the area of the Uke's body which the technique targets.
counters Established counter attack techniques available to the Uke when the Tori is executing this technique.
kodokan Yes / No parameter, specify if technique is included in Kodokan Judo.
Technique Name
romaji Rōmaji is the simple term for Romanization of Japanese, specify the romanization of the technique name here i.e. Ashi-guruma, Tsurikomi-goshi, etc.
Japanese Include the Japanese text version of the technique name i.e. 抱分, 三角絞, etc.
English Include the common English version of the technique name i.e. Full hip throw, Mountain storm, etc.
Korean Include the Korean name of the technique, which differs greatly from the Japanese name. Enter the name in hangeul i.e 한팔업어치기, 밭다리후리기, etc.
