This template notifies the reader of the notation for logarithms. Place it at the top of an article or section (below any infobox or sidebar) where log(x) is used conventionally. The first unnamed parameter can be used to indicate which convention is used.

Parameter one value meaning result
{{log(x)|10}} {{log(x)|ten}} {{log(x)|dec}} or {{log(x)|decimal}} Indicates a common logarithm, i.e. log10(x)
{{log(x)|2}} {{log(x)|two}} {{log(x)|bin}} or {{log(x)|binary}} Indicates a logarithm base 2, i.e. lg(x) or log2(x)
{{log(x)|any other value}} or {{log(x)}} Indicates a natural logarithm, i.e. ln(x) or loge(x).
