Usage[edit]
- This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from file extensions and Category:Unprintworthy redirects. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace (main-article namespace) redirects from file extensions are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy.

- Add this rcat to a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:

- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

- Use this rcat on any mainspace redirect from a title that is a file extension (such as
.svgand.txt) to a related topic, such as an explanatory article, section of an article or a table. The entries are automatically sorted in the category by the extension codes without the "." prefix. An example is: - These redirects are automatically sorted to the category by the first letter, and not by the leading dot (.).
