Template:Short pages monitor/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

This template is for use in monitoring pages that have been moved off the top of the short pages list. When pages on the short pages list reach a minimum level of quality they are bumped off the top of the list ("whitelisted") via the use of {{subst:Long comment}}.

This template is automatically put into place by {{subst:Long comment}} when that template is used to bump articles off the top of the Short Pages list. Pages that have been bumped can then be tracked and monitored either via the "What links here" link at the left, or via the hidden category Category:Monitored short pages that this template places on pages.

When monitored short pages grow to the point that they exceed 550 bytes in length, they automatically populate Category:Long monitored short pages, as they may be removed from short pages monitoring. Usually Bot1058 task #5 will clear out Category:Long monitored short pages.
