Usage[edit]

{{Wikipedia Naming Convention changes}} should be used with the following parameters:

  • |article=: The name of the article.

  • |date=: the month and year (e.g. June 2024) when the template was added to the article; this helps to figure out how long a convention has been in effect.

Optional parameters include:

  • |name= the name of the Wikipedia convention
  • |policy= Default is [[WP:CONSENSUS]] Change to fit another policy.
  • |word1= a specific word affected by the convention
  • |word2= (or an empty parameter): a specific word affected by the convention that is disambiguous to |word1=

The template should be placed at the top of the article under convention.
