Clemson

[edit]

See pg 200 and also note they are explicitly shown in SIAA in football in previous and subsequent seasons, including 1903 and 1906. Is there a RS for Clemson football in 1904 SIAA? UW Dawgs (talk) 16:17, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@MisterCake: Existing template citation says "For a list of conference members, see Glomerata. 1904. p. 173." -which doesn't mention football. Is there a page which narrowly associates Clemson football to SIAA in 1904? UW Dawgs (talk) 05:46, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's a fine source - but the football season in that volume is '03. Fixed. Cake (talk) 05:49, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No idea what you're talking about. Can you provide a RS to support your changes? UW Dawgs (talk) 05:52, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
1) The Glomerata's list of SIAA members are a fine, contemporary source for the teams in the conference. Aside from being blacklisted for professionalism or something, it seems one can assume any of the members which had a football team that year competed as conference members. 2) The 1904 yearbook contains the 1903 football season; hence some confusion. This appears to be a refusal to clearly provide (link to) a RS for your claim of Clemson football being in SIAA in 1904, despite repeated requests both here and at Talk:1904 Clemson Tigers football team. Please review WP:BURDEN re restoring unsourced content. I'm therefore reverting your edits which impacted this article, to re-add the content which is supported by the existing WP:RS -from Clemson athletics in this case. If you can provide a citation for your preferred SIAA content to establish Clemson football in SIAA in 1904, we can then compare them and procede from there -such as use of the various contradictory templates. Right now there is nothing to compare with the existing citation which does support Clemson football as Independent in 1904. UW Dawgs (talk) 07:02, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm saying the source I thought was 1904 is a source for 1903 - clemson's most famous year in the SIAA by a long shot. Cake (talk) 07:19, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
