New Template for castles in Baden-Württemberg

[edit]

Created this template for fortresses, castles, and palaces in Baden-Württemberg that I will maintain as I compile the aforementioned items. --Deus Vult! (talk) 01:14, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Ser Corran, Knight Templar (Vami_IV)[reply]

Choice for the division of this template

[edit]

Why did you split up into Württemberg-Baden, Württemberg-Hohenzollern and South Baden? These are not historical territories, but just shortlived entities created after WW II due to the split up of the area into French and American Occupational Zones. I think it would make more sense to split the template into the Regierungsbezirke of Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Tübingen, because this is the current adminstrative split-up of Baden-Württemberg.--Wuselig (talk) 08:56, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm right now fixing this. As I'm typing this, I'm re-organizing the template by Administrative Region and including all the castles that don't have pages (Redlinks) from List of castles in Baden-Württemberg.--Vami IV (talk) 00:17, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Deus Vult![reply]
@Vami IV: the German version of the list, de:Liste von Burgen und Schlössern in Baden-Württemberg, has over 2300 entries! I don't think it's useful to have this huge list in every castle's article. My advice would be to break down the template to smaller units, possibly to the Landkreis level. Please see Wikipedia:Navigation_templates#Properties: "They should be kept small in size as a large template has limited navigation value." etc. --Sitacuisses (talk) 05:06, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sitacuisses: After putting this template together, I 100% support this idea. Is there an Admin I can speak to get this template page deleted?--Vami IV (talk) 19:21, 7 March 2016 (UTC)Deus Vult![reply]
