Mile posts

[edit]

Any chance someone could add milepost figures, like those on Great Western Main Line, please? Andy Mabbett 16:36, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a go. – Tivedshambo (talk) 16:42, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The mileages reset several times, particularly round Bescot and Walsall. I've taken the distances from Quail's Railway Track Diagrams (ISBN 0-9549866-0-1) - this will need to be cited in the article. If someone wishes to check my calculations, the raw data is as follows:
Birmingham NS to Proof House Junction: 53 chains (resets to zero)
Duddeston: 0:42
Aston: 1:54
Witton: 2:36
Perry Barr: 3:26
Hamstead: 4:61
Tame Bridge Parkway: 7:38
Bescot Stadium: 8:38
Bescot Junction: 8:50 (resets to zero)
Change of mileage at Walsall signal box - 65ch from Bescot Junction, 5:19 from Dudley Junction
Walsall: 6:23
Ryecroft Junction: 6:79 (resets to zero)
Bloxwich: 2:26
Bloxwich North: 3:01
Landywood: 5:10
Cannock: 7:13
Hednesford: 9:04
Rugeley Town: 13:22
Rugeley T.V.: 14:52, mileage changes to 124:18 from Euston
Stafford: 133:34

Motorways

[edit]

Could we use blue for the motorways? I believe an icon exists, like uAKRZu2.svg but with a red vertical line. Andy Mabbett 21:32, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done - see Wikipedia talk:Railway line template. – Tivedshambo (talk) 23:42, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
