Note on the protection level, this has an unusual ECP protection level related to its sole use, as part of Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/GreenC bot 16. For convenience it was better to keep this page here than to move it to a bot subpage. — xaosflux Talk 22:13, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There's not a valid reason for ECP despite the requester's opinion. Why not make this page template editor protected and give the bot template editing privileges? The bot is already restricted to a very limited role and shouldn't be doing anything else anyway. Buffs (talk) 15:54, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Why would the bot need template editing privileges? This task is designed to only occur on article-namespace pages. That, and if this page was template-protected, only template editors would be able to run this bot's task, which is counterproductive since most reference copy editors are not template editors.
