Excessive size[edit]

This navbox is getting quite large. On my browser it doesn't even fit on one page. According to WP:Navbox "should be kept small in size" and "Navigation templates provide navigation between existing articles" (emphasis mine). A "list of ..." article could have the complete list. The references cited on the talk page above could go there too. -- Brianhe (talk) 02:48, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Way, way too much. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 17:36, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Removed ships and designers with nonexisting articles. Also removed HTML line breaks from column 1 to make it more compact. -- Brianhe (talk) 23:11, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks better. Thanks Brianhe! :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 21:15, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Distinction[edit]

What's the distinction between British & Scottish - since the latter falls under the former? GraemeLeggett (talk) 09:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Designers & builders[edit]

I removed these from the template due to size and overcrowding issues. I feel these would make a good template on their own. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 17:08, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Date removal[edit]

The dates can be seen as clutter I know, but what should we do about the issue of a ship having the same name in the same column but launched on different dates? i do not want readers to get confused on what they are looking for. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 19:54, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response Knowledgekid87 - but I can't actually see any ships with the same name in the same decade (or period), would you mind pointing them out to me? Gatoclass (talk) 21:17, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh dear, I just noticed that the ships are not even arranged in alphabetical order, which is presumably why I couldn't find the ships of the same name. That's something else that needs to be fixed IMO. Gatoclass (talk) 21:37, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you think the ships would be better presented without the small dates and in ABC order then go ahead and make the change. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:59, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - done. Gatoclass (talk) 12:08, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
