About this template

[edit]

I am interested in the concept of consumerism, which as a philosophy discusses how consumers should respond to the marketplace and as a practical discipline is concerned with how to increase consumer protection. Many articles on "consumerism" have the word "consumer" in the name, as do the articles in this template. However, the articles in this template focus not on the philosophy or practice of consumer protection, but rather economic concepts related to consumption and market research. There is some relationship between the science of marketing and consumer protection, and it is difficult for me to describe the difference, but the articles in this navigational box are suppose to be more concerned with economics research and not include information about the philosophy of consumerism or practical behavior for increasing consumer rights. [edit]

Most of the articles to which this template links are in horrible condition. A great many of them ought to be merged into other articles or otherwise need to be developed to be useful to many people. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:52, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
