Suggest the comment about Chilean Junta be eliminated as it is irrelevant to the independence of the country.

President, navy[edit]

The article is missing

Can anyone replicate this info to Template:Shipboxflag ? --Keysanger 17:46, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As per above, I've also noticed some missing flags, which I add below in (again, hopefully not broken) code. Included within are the requests from the post above:

Also I've now noticed that there are two different flags here for the same time period:

I'm not certain what to make of this – any suggestions I'd appreciate. Thank you in advance again. 180app (talk) 17:11, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've transferred your code to the sandbox: Template:Country data Chile/sandbox. It looks like it works OK, although the last three variants appear twice on the generated documentation which is odd. Also, variant 1817a is described at List of Chilean flags#Historical flags as being used for a few days in 1818 not 1817; it would be good if possible to get some confirmation of when that flag was actually used before adding it. Request disabled due to lack of response. @180app: perhaps you forgot about this? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:42, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for a lack of reply (and thank you for pinging me). Interestingly, I've been unable to find a source for said flag. I've also noticed that the description for the flag that you mention describes the flag as possibly having been used for a few days in 1817, while on a Spanish wiki page it is mentioned as a proposal, also from 1817. I also searched of the World for info, but it does not show up (funny enough, there are variants in that page unseen on Commons). If anything, perhaps the alias could be changed to proposal, if included at all. Also, the flags repeating I would imagine are due to them already being in the code(?), but then again I'm not certain.180app (talk) 21:34, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To editors Martin and 180app: the duplicates were removed by erasing var18–var20. The Naval Jack was removed by this edit back in 2007, because the actual flag/ensign of the Chilean Navy is the main Chilean flag (as depicted in the Chilean Navy article). Hesitated to include the Naval Jack under "flag-alias-naval" because that might break present usages. Might be able to add the Jack back in under "flag-alias-navy", so I'll include it in the sandbox and see what happens. Hope this helps. Cheers mate, really appreciate the effort a lot. And sorry for being more talk than action too since I don't want to break anything or something just in case. 180app (talk) 19:51, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's my pleasure, 180app! Have another look at the sandbox, because the 1819 ensign has been included and the 1817a variant has been changed to "proposal". If it looks okay to you and you think it's ready to go live, then give us a holler. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 05:50, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed the difference just now between the flags, I feel a bit silly now not noticing something like that haha. Regarding everything else in the sandbox, it seems good to me – cheers again mate! 180app (talk) 05:57, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Done then. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 07:30, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
