Royal standard[edit]

Can anyone change File:Royal Standard of England.svg with File:Royal Banner of England.svg? 200.173.176.103 (talk) 12:51, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. SSSB (talk) 10:06, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: But there is already a consensus. Royal Standard of England.svg is only used in three articles, all because of this template, while every other article, including every vexillology-related article, uses Royal Banner of England.svg. 2804:431:C7C4:556C:91A8:2990:7FDA:49 (talk) 11:31, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Provide a link to the consensus and I'll make the change. (I am not watching this page, so please ping me if you want my attention.) SSSB (talk) 18:47, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: File:Royal Standard of England.svg#File usage and File:Royal Banner of England.svg#File usage. Just compare each one. 2804:431:C7C4:556C:91A8:2990:7FDA:49 (talk) 21:33, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't prove anything. These flags are different, I assume that in some articles one is appropriate, and in other articles the other is appropriate (if articles are using time dependent flags for example, or the flags mean different things?) Please either provide a link to a discussion which yielded a consensus, or start a discussion to find a consensus yourself. SSSB (talk) 09:24, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:Royal Standard of England.svg or File:Royal Banner of England.svg?[edit]

What flag should be used? File:Royal Standard of England.svg or File:Royal Banner of England.svg? 2804:431:C7C4:556C:91A8:2990:7FDA:49 (talk) 10:26, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - Poorly formed question that cannot be answered as presented. There is not enough information to distinguish between the standard and the banner, or to explain what the historical differences are. Recommend that a third party pull together information explaining what the issue is. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:30, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
