Sultan vs Sultana[edit]

Please do nor use Sultana for the Ottoman sultans. That is another concept and has an article here in WP. The title "sultan" in Turkish has the same form for men and women. The difference of sex is understood by the fact that the title precedes the name in the case of men and succeeds it when referring to a woman. The Ottoman female sultans are daughters of the Ottoman Sultan (or mothers in the case of Valide Sultans) and not female rulers. (They may have ruled indirectly, that is another issue.) --E4024 (talk) 22:14, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
