An amethystine python
An amethystine python
Alt picture added for the python, might be more interesting, though it's not the focus of the hook nor the article expanded.-- Obsidin Soul 10:06, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Added alt hook as well.-- Obsidin Soul 10:16, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Original hook is more hooky but the meaning isn't clear (does it mean that I would be likely to find a python in every fern or that if I was looking for a python the fern would be the best place to look?) Yomanganitalk 22:57, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, latter one. If you were looking for a python, the best place would be to climb up trees with Drynaria in them. :P Feel free to reword. -- Obsidin Soul 23:09, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Expansion done. Article more or less complete.-- Obsidin Soul 22:56, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hook

Article

Comments/discussion: Very nice work indeed: please keep contributing! Careful of left-side pic against the infobox. You've got a very large window width? Many people don't (I use half my 27"-monitor width, and the text is sandwiched). Same issue in "Ecology". Fine by me for promotion when nominator decides on the hook and pic. Tony (talk) 08:37, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :) and thanks for the corrections, sections are made piecemeal so I rarely have time to doublecheck if I had linked them before. And yes, I have dual monitors actually. A more common 1024x768 and a widescreen 1600x900. I check widths in both of them. Spent a good deal of time, cutting pics and rearranging stuff to fit them. Best I could do was let the first paragraph be squished though, just to avoid displacing the clade templates and bulleted list at the bottom of the article. Doesn't look that bad, imo. heh
Suggestions on the hooks are fine. Except that nectar is already a mass noun. It would be like saying 'waters' instead of 'water'. Amended hooks per suggestion.-- Obsidin Soul 11:26, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure that Tony's change resolves the ambiguity. How about ALT2: "... that in Australia, amethystine pythons are most often found in basket ferns (pictured)?"? I'd use the snake pic, though. Yomanganitalk 10:48, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever works really. :P -- Obsidin Soul 12:11, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yamongani, yes, still ambiguous. What about a turnaround: ALT4 "... that in Australia, basket ferns often contain a nasty surprise: amethystine pythons (pictured)? Tony (talk) 13:45, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
