Some possible ALT hooks:

  • ALT1... that dermatitis caused by Paederus goes by many different names including "whiplash dermatitis" and "spider lick"?
  • ALT2... that the toxin in female but not male Paederus beetles is made by symbiotic bacteria?
  • ALT3... that painful Paederus dermatitis is caused by and named for the genus Paederus, tiny beetles that neither bite nor sting?
