Gatoclass and Cwmhiraeth, while in prep the hook changed significantly, so that it now reads:
... that Gevninge, a Danish village dating to the Viking Age or earlier, may have been the port for the seat of the Scylding kings?
Despite being promoted as:
... that Gevninge, a Viking settlement where the fragment of a helmet was found, may have been the port for the seat of the Scylding kings?
Gatoclass, considering that after a drawn-out nomination process you stated that "I have no problem with the hook," I wonder why these changes were necessary? —Usernameunique (talk) 04:11, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably best to let the matter rest. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:38, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, I never formally approved that hook, my focus was on getting the article right. After I saw it in prep, I immediately realized it still had an issue, namely that it referred to the village as a "Viking settlement" when in fact it's a modern town. Secondly, we don't actually know when it was first settled. Thirdly, the "helmet fragment" phrase looked inessential to me, given that it had only really been there to provide a link to a possible image hook. Rather than waste any more time on a nomination that's already been held up for months, I decided to correct it on the fly. I agree with Cwmhiraeth that there is nothing to be gained from yet more discussion about this one. Gatoclass (talk) 08:59, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
