Redirects

Following recent merging, {{Wikipedia disambiguation}} as well as a bunch of names that previously redirected there now redirect here (specifically: WP-disambig; Meta disambig; Project disambiguation; Shortcut disambig). I wonder if these should be added to the documentation? Cnilep (talk) 23:51, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

That redirect is already documented, though we don't list other redirects (e.g. {{Human name disambiguation}} is in, but not {{Hndis}}) nor other namespace-specific templates such as {{Portal disambiguation}}. Previous discussion: this TfD. Certes (talk) 00:16, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

DISAMBIG magic word

Should this template set the __DISAMBIG__ magic word? See MW:Extension:Disambiguator#UsageGhostInTheMachine talk to me 18:52, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

{{Disambiguation}} calls {{Dmbox|type=disambig}}, which sets the magic word. Certes (talk) 19:08, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Dang. Missed that. Thanks — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 19:13, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Qualified titles

@GKFX: Following the recent change to Template:Disambiguation, pages such as Socialist Party (Sweden) (disambiguation) have left Category:Disambiguation pages with (qualified) titles. Is this intentional? Certes (talk) 00:07, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

No, that was a mistake; I have reverted it and left a comment in the code to mention that case. User:GKFXtalk 00:13, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Provide links to search pages

I've always wondered, why don't we make this template do something instead of just presenting canned information? I can see that including links to Special:PrefixIndex and Special:Search would be very useful whenever the user does not find the entry they were looking for. Rather than making them go through hoops, we could just transclude {{Search link}} and {{In title}} somewhere at the bottom of this very template. That would also obviate the need that the editors transclude those manually into dab pages (a common but not universal practice). No such user (talk) 10:28, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
