I know it was a feature of the now-merged {{fake ref}}, but why do we need the #cite_dummy link? It isn't really useful unless there is something to link to. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 13:27, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, more advanced syntax can create a new category and suppress the original dummy ref display.

Using {{dummy reference}} in an article is clearly an abusive attempt to insert a hoax. There are currently 14 articles using this template. 142.113.140.146 (talk) 11:09, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
