Temple of Bel

[edit]

The label of "Temple of the Palmyrene gods" is used for the Temple of Bel, Dura-Europos article. I propose changed this to be "Template of Bel". Any comments or concerns? DutchTreat (talk) 11:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe smth like "Temple of the Palmyrene gods (or Temple of Bel)" will be better? "Palmyrene gods" is often used in literaty, that's why I used it there. Artem.G (talk) 17:56, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Artem.G: The links should be relatively short to improve readability. Therefore, we should avoid making the link any longer. My point was that the article is called "Temple of Bel..." not "Template of the Palmyrene gods", so the former link name is preferred. Since there are two articles with "Template of Bel*" in the title and only one is about "Dura Europos", I think it's okay to just show the shorter title like this Temple of Bel
From my experience, it's common practice to have the link listed in the Template exactly match or closely match the article title. For this reason, we should not introduce the label "Temple of the Palmyrene gods" into the template. If you disagree, we can continue to discuss or get input from some others. - DutchTreat (talk) 11:34, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm ok with your reasoning. Artem.G (talk) 11:38, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
