Edit request

[edit]

Create this protection editnotice to prevent confusion and add a notice to everyone who attempts to edit this page.

{{Editnotices/Page/Wikipedia:Oversight}}

Thingofme (talk) 10:13, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Thingofme Wikipedia:Requests for oversight is full protected already, and is going to be staying like that. Why do you think admins need this notice? — xaosflux Talk 10:43, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is only for non-admins attempting to edit this page. Thingofme (talk) 11:13, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done I don't think this is needed, "edit" isn't an option on that page for those that would view this - only view source, and the top of the page already says basically this same information; consider this step 3 of WP:BRD (as if you boldly editing, and were reverted). Feel free to discuss further, if a consensus emerges please reactivate the edit request. The Caution template at the top of the page could maybe use a little more info, suggestions for improvements to that can be made at Wikipedia_talk:Oversight. — xaosflux Talk 13:36, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request 2

[edit]

Please add the following text:

This can help address accidental edits while not being as harsh as {{Editnotices/Page/Wikipedia:Oversight}}. Awesome Aasim 02:31, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Awesome Aasim Per the above edit request, this page is fully protected, so only administrators would be editing the page. Non-administrators would be directed to Wikipedia talk:Oversight, which already has an edit notice. --Ahecht (TALK

 Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit template-protected}} template. Izno (talk) 00:36, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
