I have amended the template to add an optional discipline column on the right hand end to use Template:hockeygreencard, Template:hockeyyellowcard and Template:hockeyredcard. I'm not an expert on table markup so feel free correct if you see fit. cheers Goldfinger820 (talk) 04:56, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Penalty shoot out report

[edit]

Does anyone know how to add a REPORT link to the penalty area of the box? Sometimes that report is separated from the match report, I'd like to be able to put it in the article. User:m&m89talk 21:07, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Showing live score or score after every quarter when then match is going on

[edit]

Like in a lot of sports, we should show live score for hockey too if possible, otherwise we should at least show score after each quarter when the match is going on and add some sort of indicator saying the match is live or score till1st/2nd/3rd quater Mavrick2022 (talk) 08:23, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Max2610@Kante4@Fma12@Lancepark@MNWiki845@Pindrice@DenSportgladeSkåningen@Parwa104@Lachie23 @Nitish003 I wanted to discuss 2 points
  1. adding discipline details. we already have the relevant fields like green, yellow and red card, can we use it ?
  2. I would like to propose an option to add to show live store or atleast score after each quater, just like we do in other sports. I have seen this happen in a lot of sports during olympics. if everyone agrees, we can make a change in template to indicate the score with the quater

@Mavrick2022 On Football match pages, the biggest sport on Wikipedia, live scores are never added and a hockey matches is only one hour. I think it is better to just wait after the match is finished.Parwa104 (talk) 13:09, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No live scores, we can wait until the game is finished. About discipline, i have no real opinion. Kante4 (talk) 13:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Parwa104@Kante4i understand this point, but one can get live scores of football matches with a simple google search, and good shows it on their main page too, but for a lot of matches in hockey, that is not the provision. one of the examples being current asian champions trophy. in that case wikipedia can be a reliable source if we also display the score till last quater. the score will not be 100% real live, but will given an idea till the quarter? eg 1-4(1st quater) Mavrick2022 (talk) 19:13, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you want live hockey scores you can use Flashscore or tms.fih.ch. Wikipedia is only for finished matches. Parwa104 (talk) 08:53, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Parwa. Flashscore has live scores right now for the asian trophy e.g.. Kante4 (talk) 10:51, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
noted. what about showing disciple details, just like in football? Mavrick2022 (talk) 14:52, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
