Hockey World League[edit]

Do not move the article title without any discussion especially a sensitive case. FIH Hockey World League is the name set at the beginning, unlike the other tournament which FIH have different on different tournament, we simply want to standardise the article title. If you feel it is unjustify, please make a discussion in article talk page. Thank you. --Aleenf1 12:26, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

World League[edit]

Hey, 1. You got a link to that? 2. Why are they playing in Round 2 then? They are qualified for Round 4, doesn't matter what happens it seems?

P.S.: The discipline parameter is useless to the hockeybox templates as they do not affect the outcome of the game. They will be deleted from the template asap. Kante4 (talk) 19:45, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, just read it. But i still don't know where it stands that India will host them. Hell, i even don't know where it stands who hosts Round 2 and all. Discipline: I really don't care, tbh. Just need to find a method, maybe talk to Aleenf1, too. Kante4 (talk) 20:00, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that was the one method i did not check. Kante4 (talk) 20:04, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you already get the answer here, but what Kante4 said was true, those did not affect the result should not be included, no matter how much the cards the players booked, the goal still the things which only affect the outcome of the final results. If you question the addition of umpires, why you not question in soccer, they have the same addition as well. Please stop your rollback editing. Thank you. --Aleenf1 23:09, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean this, then it is not in our discussion point, you can refer to 2010 FIFA World Cup, where only goal appear. If you taking about handball, i'm not sure what it mean by placing the yellow card. Something i have to say, not all the things should be included, this could violate the copyright hold by FIH, at the best, not to discipline. --Aleenf1 11:31, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you moved Hockey at the Commonwealth Games. This has been discussed before at Talk:Hockey at the Commonwealth Games#Requested move, and there was no consensus to move. StAnselm (talk) 00:15, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do not crossing the line[edit]

I think i did said that the link order in a template no change without discussion, if you saying the other is wrong, why not think are you right to be? Do not make your own way as most things already set long time ago. For junior continental championship, sorry i have to NO, as most template in other sports also not serve for that except the international one. --Aleenf1 11:41, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't try to point my grammatical error, we not discuss this and i'm not native English speaker, so don't point your point to the other things while not gain any. I don't think in field hockey it have sufficient source to cover in junior tournament, not even senior tournament which one off only. So why not point yourself to manage the things which is well sourced rather than scratch your head in template? --Aleenf1 11:45, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want comment further about your reply, please think again what are you talking, or whether you can have undiscussed changes. Honestly, i will focus myself on right things and discuss with others to improve rather blah blah blah unhelpful here. If you think my attitude is wrong, then you can complain to arbitration committee. Thats all.
PS: Don't ever try to advice other people while you are not quite right when editing, or try to point my grammar as Wikipedia not prohibit non-native English speaker to edit. Please sign when leave the message on my talk page. Thank you. --Aleenf1 03:02, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Should i say that you are too focus on women's tournament rather than focus universally? If you could change all the qualification format in women's world cup, why not mens' one? --Aleenf1 03:12, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm asking you for good, not bad. Don't act like a barbarian when reply a message. I think you are beyond the limit. If you want people cooperate with you, please cooperate with people first. Thank you. --Aleenf1 05:06, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to become boss, go ahead, i'm not interested, i'm do what i can, thank you and bye. --Aleenf1 15:57, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, a link which still available cannot be regarded as "previous", logically it still a website. A dead link generally should not deleted, it should be repair by using web archive services. As link provided, i hope you can read it. Thank you. --Aleenf1 12:38, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template[edit]

Hey, i disagree. The link to the champions challenge is also on the CC template which is placed on the article. So, it makes no sense to place a template, when there is no linking to the article. Kante4 (talk) 20:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those other articles and sports aren't an argument. It still does not make sense. Why not start with those "new" ones by not adding it? Don't care about the old ones, tbh... Kante4 (talk) 20:48, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, good. The rule is golden goal so we should link to that with the field hockey section i say. Kante4 (talk) 03:19, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New tournament bracket[edit]

A new bracket template, known as {{Round8-with play-offs}}, was created by me for field hockey tournament to fit with the format. Try to use and feedback to me if necessary. Thank you. --Aleenf1 11:07, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see no problems here, can you clarify more? --Aleenf1 23:11, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I got your point, and i fix, check it out and see. --Aleenf1 11:13, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Appear fine for me, have you purge to bypass the cache? --Aleenf1 12:54, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I dunno what is your problem but fine here. Sorry i can't help anymore. --Aleenf1 11:24, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2013 Men's Pan American Cup[edit]

The tournament is being held in Canada so distinction of field hockey is needed because hockey = ice hockey here. Also the dates are in North American format so please do not change that (as the tournament is being played here. The PAHF identifies the tournament as being held in Brampton with Toronto in brackets so leave that as well. 76.64.228.218 (talk) 16:18, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Final or Finals?[edit]

Quota[edit]

I reverted your editing. Quota number, which from FIH basis are not simply to amend to match the qualification system. FIH put a system to follow, invitational which result from team withdrawal was not put in the system, and is not count as quota. Another is long dash, place vacant? The footnote should put for the next best team qualified, such present only confusing people. How the team qualify is more important than the number of quota allocate. --Aleenf1 16:56, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lets figure out if they is 3 quotas to be offer, and you only get 2 for some reasons, then is no point you show that number because at first you have FIH document to support this thesis, alter it to match the condition never been a good way. I didn't think taking example of FIFA World Cup is good, FIFA release the quota for each confederation to follow, after all confederation itself who did the matter. By taking the example of 2012 Olympics, why the quota didn't grant to 2nd best team after South Africa withdrawal, while FIH taking the decision to grant the place to a team based on World Ranking, then it is never for the confederation to control the quota. The point is if the quota, after a team withdrew, can still keep for own confederation, then it is still worth to keep it, but not for field hockey. How the teams qualified are more important.
It is never necessary to have a long dash, you can just put a note if team qualified does not fill the qualification criteria. Note is use to clear all this matter, why should be complicated too much. --Aleenf1 16:12, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm someone who contributes to the Dutch Wikipedia, and I saw that Caomhan27 has been updating these two flags for over ten times in the last few weeks. I'm really astonished, because he's making a mess of these flags and nobody does anything. I don't have an account on Commons, so I can't intervene. I asked on his Users Talk to stop doing this, but he just deleted my reaction, as he did with several others. So my question is: can you stop him, can you change the hockey flag back into this one (you can check www.fih.ch, where you can see this is the only correct flag), or if not, who should I contact to do so? 87.64.182.28 (talk) 18:14, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would just like to add that the above dutch user was very rude as shown above and so that was why I cleared his question, however I did take on board his/her query despite that, It also quite untrue that several other questions where left there was just the single obnoxious one, I outlined that the flag being used at present was indeed created by myself and so I was merely updating certain aspects which clearly this unknown dutch user took issue with, however I explained that I would upload the requested older updated version soon.Caomhan27 (talk) 21:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FIH Hockey World League, overall final ranking[edit]

That is no publication about the overall team ranking from FIH, thus you are original research, teams only played for tournament ranking but not overall. I have no idea how it comes. If you have reference, please cite and revert. --Aleenf1 03:21, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Any addition must cite references if no direct results from matches, do you did that? --Aleenf1 04:35, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:TOOSOON. This event is still about 5 years away.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Re: Fieldhockeybox[edit]

Actually your idea was used 3 or 4 years ago, also added by me, edit history can tell, but was removed by someone without reasons. No contest because i also feel it is not necessary. I dunno whether it is important to have break or not. --Aleenf1 13:47, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Editing conflic[edit]

Please note that you can revert as long as you apply the following condition:

  1. Don't use flag for location.
  2. Don't use flag for umpires, as it does not represent the country, you can use country code instead.
  3. Do not overlink an article, but you may do so in table.

Note, not all Ohconfucius did was correct, and i will remove the location link in template. For now, looks messy and need your help to cover it back. Thanks in advance. --Aleenf1 14:46, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A message already dropped in Ohconfucius's talk page about his editing failure. You may get me back about the reversion. --Aleenf1 14:48, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure but it looks just odd without the flags. Some of his edits are just headscratching... Kante4 (talk) 14:55, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:MOS or so. Or bring it to the admin noticeboard if needed and you are right. Else maybe someone with good english skills should "translate" what Allenf1 wrote on his talk page... Kante4 (talk) 15:12, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What i'm proposed is to eliminate the flag use at no necessary place, and this what the new MOS approach. I hope you understand. --Aleenf1 15:35, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, you can't, if you refer to MOS:FLAG, the flag use "where the subject actually represents that country", the umpires is not represents the country. "Words as the primary means of communication should be given greater precedence over flags" means even location is somewhere in the country doesn't mean you use flag to adhere the location. --Aleenf1 15:52, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Such a template should exist somewhere i think. Still, a link to the specific country should be given. Kante4 (talk) 16:34, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer to the comment I left here. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 14:34, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Final ranking or Final classification[edit]

Sorry, just wanna ask whether we should use "Final ranking" or "Final classification"? Since the team was classified rather than ranked. --Aleenf1 12:38, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

But FIH state "classification" on its tournament website.--Aleenf1 12:49, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

March 2015[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. CT[edit]

Hey, just like i said. Those teams also "advance" (to a different "round") and that should be noted for viewers. And breaks aren't needed if they play at the same day, common use on WP. Just because it was the way it is, does not mean it cant be different and more adapted the WP style. Hockey used to write out the country names aswell, that was odd... Field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament[edit]

Hi, I just saw your edits to Field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament. What is your source for no classification matches and that there will be quarterfinals? Also please note the standard format across all articles regarding group stage and knockout stage for consistency. Qed237 (talk) 14:22, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the schedule, much appreciated. Qed237 (talk) 14:30, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I completely understand. I was not on wikipedia then, but after co-creating Module:Sports table to have a similar type of standings table accross all sports, I have now been going around different sports updating the format and I have been trying to be consistent. I think it is easier for readers and those updating if we have a similar format for all sports. Qed237 (talk) 14:35, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Supported. Every sport has it, only Hockey not. That's odd. Kante4 (talk) 14:48, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:10, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Argentine peso - Fourth Series - Images[edit]

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to scan (or find) and upload images of the fourth series Argentine Peso bills. One of the Five Pillars of Wikipedia is Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute. Because Argentina specifically does not have a currency exception in their copyright laws (c:Commons:Currency#Argentina), these images are not free and fall under certain restrictions on their use at Wikipedia. These restrictions are documented in the Non-free content criteria policy. The third of these is minimal use, "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information" and is expanded upon here where it says "The use of non-free images arranged in a gallery or tabular format is usually unacceptable." I have therefore removed the table. If there was an article about the fourth series, I could see having example bills at the top as there are for Banknotes of the Republic of Ireland. I wanted to give you a little more information instead of just posting the following dozen official notices.  ★  Bigr Tex 21:40, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
