Can we add a field for a wikisource link? Sonicsuns (talk) 04:14, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed it for now, because the majority of the articles have the Wikisource link down in either the "References" section or the "External links" section. Funandtrvl (talk) 18:06, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Sonicsuns:@Funandtrvl:
I came here to ask for the same. Many readers either don't make it down that far, or don't know to look down there at the bottom for the wikisource.
It would be great to have the option of integrating the wikisource link into this infobox.

I'd like to add my support for this as well. I don't see any reason why Template:Infobox Treaty should have this function, but Infobox Document should not. - Themightyquill (talk) 09:01, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to change the "Author" bit to "Author(s)". Some documents are drafted by a single man. Cambalachero (talk) 19:45, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Superfluous blank space

[edit]

Somehow this template seems to introduce superfluous blank space at the top of every article that uses it. 86.181.174.63 (talk) 13:50, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Date effective

[edit]

I wish to request that a 'date Effective field be added. Thank you. Drdpw (talk) 02:50, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Page number

[edit]

I would like to request that a Page function is added. Commons contains many documents in pdf or djvu, but if these documents are used as images in this template we can only show page 1. Sometimes the first page is not the best image, so the functionality to show other pages would be appreciated.

@Funandtrvl: do you know who I could contact to help with this?

Oncenawhile (talk) 11:36, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Usually I go to the WP:VPT desk to ask if someone can help. Funandtrvl (talk) 18:16, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New parameters

[edit]

The model is used for the articles of important reports (such as the Stern Review). If it is correct not to use the Template:Infobox book for those, I suggest to add some parameters in the Template:Infobox document, namely:

  • Original language (orig_lang_code =)
  • Original title (title_orig =)
  • Commissioned by (commissioned =)
  • Media type (media_type =)
  • Subject (subject =)

What do you think? Could someone add those in the template? Thank you very much.
Pisobe Solela (talk) 11:00, 28 August 2016 (UTC).[reply]

I tried to add those. Do not hesitate to correct any mistake. Pisobe Solela (talk) 13:00, 28 August 2016 (UTC).[reply]

Multiple languages

[edit]

The template should allow to specify several, eventually coma-seperated, laguage codes 'orig_lang_codes'. There are many documents officially written in several languages see e.g. Swiss Civil Code. -- ZH8000 (talk) 15:31, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Restart wiksource discussion

[edit]

There seems to be concensus to add a wikisource parameter already in the discussion above, but it was removed. I also note that such a param exists at {{Infobox book}}. I understand that most articles will have a link in the external links section, but I think many people coming to these articles are looking for the original text and we should make it as easily found as possible. This is similar to official website links in infoboxes like {{Infobox organization}}, which should also be in the external links section. --JFH (talk) 19:05, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Location of document?

[edit]

Does this refer to where it resides now, or where it was signed? Would be clearer to have separate location of signing and location current or something, if it’s desirable to indicate either or both. —Michael Z. 14:38, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I just did a bulleted list of all relevant locations, but splitting it out might be nice. Arlo James Barnes 00:13, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
