Edit request: Provide option to disable language name link[edit]

Currently, editors who use {{lang-es}} multiple times in the same article cannot suppress the (Spanish: [...] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) link after the first occurrence. Other language templates that transclude {{language with name}}, such as {{lang-fr}} (view source) and {{lang-ru}} (view source), allow links to be disabled by passing an additional parameter |links=no. To enable this option for {{lang-es}}, I request the first line be changed from

{{Language with name|es|Spanish|''{{{1}}}''}}<noinclude>

to

{{Language with name|es|Spanish|''{{{1}}}''|links={{{links|yes}}}}}<noinclude>

By default, if the |links= parameter is omitted, the language name will still be linked. —Cheng  08:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Add lit. parameter per parent template[edit]

To allow making use of Template:Language with name's {{{lit}}} parameter, I created a sandbox version. There I'm also removing Interwiki links and the no longer necessary {{pp-template}}, compare:Template:Lang-el. Please also change full protection to template protection per WP:TEMP-P. • IWLs have been copied to Wikidata, testcases check out and no objections, so Done. Alakzi (talk) 18:16, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
