italics= yes[edit]

Somali is written in latin script therefore should be in italics. Either revert last edit which is causing errors at thousands of Somali-related articles or change the parameter to italics to yes. Not sure if the latter option will work to resolve issue but it is worth a try. Left a message at Trappist_the_monk's here: User_talk:Trappist_the_monk#Lang-so but I think they are away for the night.  —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 05:57, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Janweh64. I removed the line and that seems to have fixed it. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 07:25, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
CambridgeBayWeather This issue is not fixed. Please see Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Lang-so. At this rate the only thing I can do is go to each page that uses this template and remove the italics. There are over a thousand uses of this template.  —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 07:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The only articles fixed are the ones you edited to remove the ''.  —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 07:39, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are right Janweh64 so I've just reverted the template. A bot is needed to go around and remove all the '' from that template. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 07:59, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@CambridgeBayWeather:, Thank you. After a purge this returns the articles to a good version. I am tagging someone with experience on the issue (SMcCandlish). I believe you have been working on this very good project with Trappist the monk to improve lang-xx templates. Can you take a look at this?  —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 08:05, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Trappist has a plan for this. It needs to be done a template at a time to deal with the italics issue.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  08:30, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
