Using GNIS as source[edit]

As proposed in Talk:Hawaii it might be a good idea to include sources to the GNIS entries for each island, and write them according to the source. W Nowicki (talk) 20:24, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Color and flower and rank[edit]

I suggest

  • adding columns with the official colors and flowers. I was reading List of U.S. state colors which mentions "Each island has its own official color" but doesn't link to any list of these.
  • removing the "Area rank" column, since the area column is sortable. If people can't count up to eight without assistance, the rank could be added to the Area column, renamed "Area (rank)", and a similar rank added to the "Population" and "Density" columns.

I've removed the redundant "Area rank" column. I don't see the benefit of putting official colors and flowers in this table unless these colors and flowers are strongly identified with their respective islands. They would be more useful in the individual islands' articles. White 720 (talk) 02:39, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting by area[edit]
