Individual hymns in the general template?

[edit]

I never looked this closely at the template: a few individual hymns are linked from here, others not. I don't think any hymn should be here, it's large enough. The individual ones are all in Template:German Lutheran hymns. Perhaps Luther's could appear there as a separate group? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:40, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that either none or all should be on the navbox. I'd go with all, as there are 38 Martin Luther hymn pages. They would all fit onto his principal navbox, thus, importantly, allowing the navbox to exist on all of his hymn pages (giving readers of each hymn page the full Wikipedia map to the topic 'Martin Luther' in one navbox). The hymns should be in their own section and not a subsection entitled 'Works'. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:54, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) I'd go for none. They are all (but one) in German, and all linked from the List of hymns which should remain. No individual works are in the bio navboxes of other prolific creative minds, compare Template:Johann Sebastian Bach. - There are maps with overview and maps with detail, and too much detail may obscure the look at the overview. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:18, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since works are already listed then the hymns, as works, should also be included. This is already detailed, and adding the remaining 30 hymns doesn't change its scope. Plus, as mentioned, it assures Luther's navbox placement on all of the hymn pages (as it should be for complete Wikipedia topic coverage). Feeling that some good things will come from these separated discussions. Randy Kryn (talk) 16:24, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
