Months (and days)?[edit]

Is there a way to implement months or days in the timeline? Even without labels, or if we had to use decimals, the ability to have an item end halfway through a year would be amazing. — HTGS (talk) 07:07, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It would be great to have centuries and decades with the ability to turn years off. We would get far greater timespans in a standard window width and vast array of possible use cases. Now the maximum is at around 80 years, and the view gets a bit cluttered with the all the years visible. Still a great template. -- Rakkaus-muki-2 (talk) 15:53, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– This is not the only or main timeline template; there are several other generic templates for different kinds of timeline for use in different context, such as Template:Sidebar timeline to create a sidebar; this one creates a navbox. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 19:33, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, have to agree, this is probably not the right name for this template. --Izno (talk) 20:15, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agreed. Sensible move. — HTGS (talk) 20:55, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, this is a more accurate name. Thingofme (talk) 10:29, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per reasons listed by nominator. Paintspot Infez (talk) 22:44, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support with making the base name a {{Template disambiguation}} page per nom. After moving the page, the previous name should not be a redirect but should be a disambiguion page. Gonnym (talk) 13:45, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
