Columbia Giants[edit]

Chicago Columbia Giants and Columbia Giants are the same team. Do we want them listed separately on the template? (Just asking. Either way is fine with me.) --Rbraunwa 17:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Completely reorganized template[edit]

I did a major overhaul of the navbox to make it the default navbox for the Negro Leagues, along the same lines as MLB, NFL, etc. I'm sure it still needs tweaking by some subject matter experts - feel free to add/delete/correct. There were a few teams from the original navbox I did not have enough info on to place them properly, please feel free to put these on the template and strike them off when done - the teams are: Arkansas Black Travelers, Denver White Elephants, El Paso, Fort Worth, Jersey City Colored Athletics, Louisville Black Caps, New Orleans Black Pelicans, Oakland Larks, Poins, Potomacs, San Antonio Black Bronchos, San Antonio Black Indians, Tennessee Rats, Waggoner Greasing Palaces Baseball Club. Major/minor league & scope of template[edit]

Re: the addition of the West Coast Negro Baseball League, I was under the impression this template was for major-league-caliber Negro leagues and teams, so I removed that addition. I think there is enough interest that we can create a new template for minor Negro leagues (taken from B-R) consisting of:

Only 3 of the above have articles currently, and the USBL and Tex-LA are redirects to same-named white leagues. But the ones that have articles can be on the new minor league template, and the ones that don't now have an incentive to be created. Thoughts? I support the new template. Penale52 (talk) 18:35, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I created a draft template at Template talk:Negro League teams/Negro minor league teams. Please feel free to edit it any way you see fit. Note that some leagues may need to be commented out until more info can be obtained (these would be the leagues where I have "incomplete" instead of a list of teams). Also, some links need to be adjusted as the target is incorrect (well, it is a draft after all....) If you or anyone is ready to use it, please move the page to Template:Negro minor league teams. Boldly edited[edit]

Since I don't have a talk page per se I'll comment here. I boldly upgraded this template to a {{Navbox with collapsible groups}} and I also added a minor league section as discussed above. However, since the minor league articles are few and far between (as of this writing) I did not include any minor league teams (...yet). Feel free to make changes as are necessary. Rgrds. Thanks - nice work! BRMo (talk) 03:52, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
