Rationale for products listing

[edit]

I'm just re-removed some products from the product list for the following reasons:

If we include every product that could potentianlly contain derrivitivaes of palm, the list could literally have thousands of generic and brand-name products. So the criteria for inclusion needs to be something more then that.

I kept Girl Scout Cookies because it has a section related to palm oil. Kit Kat could squeak on to the list by that criteria as well. But the could be a number of lists like "Brands and products targeted by anti-palm oil campaigns" or "Companies that purchase GreenPalm certificates" which would get quite lengthy if they were at all comprehensive. --Brian Z (talk) 14:18, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Certes: I think part of this edit (the part mentioned in the edit summary) is incorrect: All parts of that disambig apply to palm oil, and as such the disambig (Vegetable oil refining) should be left as-is. I understand there is a drive to get rid of all disambigs, but in some cases that will actually be incorrect. Invasive Spices (talk) 15:42, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then we should add the individual articles rather than the dab. Biodiesel is already listed in a better group but I've added Biodiesel production along with Fat hydrogenation. Hydrotreated vegetable oil isn't really a process; does Transesterification (already listed) cover it? Certes (talk) 16:39, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh. Yes. If we need all of them, then we need all of them in the Template. Right. As for whether Hydrotreated vegetable oil and Transesterification are the same thing... I don't know. Not my area. Invasive Spices (talk) 20:12, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Style

Hello @Ridwan97: Greatly improved [1]. Could you do that to all of the items as well? Would that look good? Invasive Spices (talk) 5 March 2022 (UTC)
