New Category

[edit]

I don't think this template should be populating CAT:NSP. There should be a new category for articles with no pronunciation at all. - filelakeshoe 17:08, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

reverted template:pronunciation needed

[edit]

copied from my talk page Hello, I noticed that you just reverted my edit which showed the syntax for the template pronunciation needed. I realize that I may not have included the syntax in the ideal layout, however I do think it should be restored to the article in some fashion or another. The reason I feel it is necessary is because I myself spent a long time trying to figure out what the syntax is when I needed the template for another article, and had to go to edit the article to figure out what the syntax was. Please let me know your thoughts on this matter — Preceding unsigned comment added by GrassHopHer (talkcontribs) 15:52, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GrassHopHer. Your edit caused {{Pronunciation needed}} to appear in articles. Template documentation goes into /doc subpages. I've clarified the usage of this template; for more information on how to use templates see Help:Template or Help:A quick guide to templates. Edgepedia (talk) 17:36, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great its much better now, thank you :) GrassHopHer (talk) 20:18, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Subst?

[edit]

Could this be modified to let us call it with {{subst:pronunciation needed}} to add in the date, as with stuff like {{cn}}? (please ping on reply) DemonDays64 (talk) 07:28, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On biographies of living people

[edit]

Please see WP:BLPN#Pronunciation-needed template for a discussion on the acceptability of using this template on articles about living people. More participation there would be welcome. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:18, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
