Add Rcats[edit]

This redirect needs Rcats (redirect categories) added. Please modify it as follows:

 • from this...
#REDIRECT Template:Redirect from duplicated article
 • to this...
#REDIRECT Template:Redirect from duplicated article
*WHEN YOU COPY & PASTE, PLEASE ERASE THE TEXT ON THIS LINE & LEAVE THIS LINE BLANK.

Template Redr is a shortcut for the This is a redirect template, which is itself a shortcut used to add categories to redirects. Thank you in advance! – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 03:26, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rcats needed[edit]

This redirect to this template needs Rcats (redirect categories) added. Please modify it as follows:

 • from this...
#REDIRECT Template:R from duplicated article

#REDIRECT Template:R from duplicated article

Template Redr is a shortcut for the This is a redirect template, which is itself a shortcut used to add categories to redirects.

Also, please remove "and interwikis" from the comment in R from duplicated article. Thank you in advance! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 08:45, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Text that was removed[edit]

This template lost it's text with this edit under the rationale "move message to /doc as it is not visible on redirect page anyway". The text is visible when the redirect is deactivated for discussion at Rfd, which can be very helpful, and there are two bug reports, T16323 and T44642 that are still trying to get the text on redirects activated so the newer contributors will be less confused about a given redirect. All of the other Rcats have text on them for these reasons. May we please return the text to this one?

please modify this...

<!-- this is Template:R from duplicated article --><noinclude>
documentation
<!-- Add categories to the /doc subpage, not here! -->
</noinclude>
to this...

This page was kept as a redirect to another article on the same or very similar subject matter, in order to preserve its edit history after the content was merged. Please do not delete this page or remove this tag (unless the need to recreate this article is demonstrated).

Thank you in advance for your consideration! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 21:50, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good to me, I'll wait for template protection to be applied and give it sometime so people (MSGJ) can comment. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 23:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Callanecc – maybe it's me, but I can't imagine why Martin would rm the text from one Rcat. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 02:58, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To editor MSGJ: I found another Rcat that needs text restored, Martin, at R from EXIF. If we just re-add the text without the links, then this problem should not arise. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 15:08, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done Ruslik_Zero 19:23, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Ruslik_Zero! Now if you could just slightly amend the to , that would be perfect. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 21:08, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 22 August 2021[edit]

The template automatically makes all redirects to be unprintworthy due too the code |printworthy=no. While this may be true for many/most redirects, there are some that are printworthy. This is the case in other redirect templates, which use this code

|printworthy={{#ifeq:{}|printworthy|yes|no}}

If suitable for use by this template, please make the change. Senator2029 ❮talk❯ 09:46, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Senator2029: This template implies that the redirect name will be almost identical to the main article every time, which would not be printworthy. Do you have an example of a printworthy redirect using this template? Thanks, Terasail[✉️] 20:28, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: No response given at this time. Reopen if an example is given. Terasail[✉️] 13:29, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Terasail:Lightning bell is a duplicated article of Franklin bells, but primarily it is a legitimate alternative name, and as such, would be printworthy not unprintworthy. Senator2029 【talk】 13:41, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
