1979 independence referendum[edit]

@Aréat: Where did you get this from? I can't find any mention of it anywhere, including at Direct Democracy. Cheers, Number 57 23:40, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I don't recall, but probably from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Vincent_and_the_Grenadines#20th_and_21st_centuries the island main page's history section, on which it seem a citation needed has been added. --Aréat (talk) 02:00, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I added a source, but I think you may very well be right that no referendum took place this year. There's actually a lot of different sources claiming it when digging on the net, but they seem to always repeat the exact same sentence, so I'm suspecting one source made a mistake some times ago and it got repeated here and there. I'm not sure whether this suspicion is enough to delete the information here, though. Cordially. --Aréat (talk) 06:57, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If we can't find any better evidence for a relatively modern referendum, then I think we have to assume that this was an error. It would have been a little unusual for a British colony to have had an independence vote too. Number 57 09:43, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
