This template does not require a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.
This is just a helper function. If further events are added to the snooker calender, or if the template is used on articles about older tournaments then new point and background parameters need to be added for those tournaments. If tournaments are dropped from the calender, the parameters must remain so the template continues to work on older articles. The current season selector just passes the parameters to a sub-template which is unique for that season, so that the total points at each cutoff in that season can be determined. Template:Snooker season points/2010/2011 is specific to the 2010/2011 season, and Template:Snooker season points/2011/2012 will have to be created for the next season. It is necessary to have sub-templates for each season, because tournaments are added to and dropped from the calender, and there might be different cutoff points in different seasons.
