Closer notation (May 2008)

[edit]

I posted this on User:Katydidit's talk page because [she?] was the one that made the most recent edit regarding this, but I thought I'd post it here too. These are my thoughts on the situation:

Please do not add the closer notation beside Franklin's name until either La Russa announces him as such, or at least he gets a bunch of the opportunities in a row. The quote from La Russa reads: "We'll mix and match," La Russa said. "I think all things, everyone rested, Franklin and Springer are the guys that match up the best." Just because Franklin got the save today does not make him the official closer, even if he's the guy most likely to get more chances than anyone. The last word we have from La Russa is that it is not a one-man job, so until something changes on that front there should be no closer notation on the Cardinals' template. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla! 06:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mulder

[edit]

The Post-Dispatch had two stories recently saying Mulder's time with the Cards is done. I think it's time to remove him from the roster. His chances of returning to the Cards is less than zero.Topgun530 (talk) 14:58, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They announced that his option won't be picked up. However, the earliest he can become a free agent is a few days after the world series. He isn't off the team until then. JustSomeRandomGuy32 (talk) 16:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
