Geminga

[edit]

This template is used on the Geminga page to describe a pulsar, by setting the spectral type to "Pulsar". If this usage is OK, could we get a "period" tag in which we could put the pulsar period. Thanks! Sfegan 00:47, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please add "type" as a synonym to the "class" parameter. The text says this line shows the spectral type, so obviously, "type" should work

Replace:

{{#if:{{{class|}}}|<tr valign=top><td>'''[[Stellar classification|Spectral type]]'''</td><td>{{{class}}}</td></tr>}}

With:

{{#if:{{{class|{{{type|}}}}}}|<tr valign=top><td>'''[[Stellar classification|Spectral type]]'''</td><td>{{{class|{{{type}}}}}}</td></tr>}}

Done I'm not great with wiki syntax, so if someone notices any problems, please fix or revert. I tested a few pages and didn't see any issues. Thanks!   — Jess· Δ 06:36, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but part of that was missing in the implemented edit (I suspect because it scrolls off the edge of the screen in the lines above?)

<td>{{{class}}}</td>

should be

<td>{{{class|{{{type}}}}}}</td>

I think you missed part of the line?

Display problem

[edit]

If the appmag_v field is not set (such as for a pulsar) then some of the other fields don't show even though they are filled in, including dist_ly, dist_pc, and spectral. I have to insert N/A for the apparent magnitude to get them to show. Praemonitus (talk) 18:58, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
