Semi-protected edit request on 11 December 2017[edit]

I am requesting to change the family from Erebidae to Noctuidae. Ascalapha odorata is in the family Noctuidae. Lrusert (talk) 03:00, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - As stated at Ascalapha odorata, it is in the family Erebidae not Noctuidae. I suspect the confusion may be that, to quote Noctuidae:-
"Noctuidae is the most controversial family in the superfamily Noctuoidea because many of its clades are constantly changing .... It was considered the largest family in Lepidoptera for a long time, but after regrouping Lymantriinae, Catocalinae and Calpinae within the family Erebidae, the latter holds this title now. .... more changes continue to appear between Noctuidae and Erebidae.
These reclassifications are based on gene sampling, and make many older textbooks outdated - Arjayay (talk) 15:21, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 14 July 2022[edit]

Please change the family of this moth from Erebidae to Noctuidae. Cuculliinae have been in Noctuidae for over ten years and it is settled that they are noctuids and not erebids. Kevinliam (talk) 13:51, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done this talk page is about the template Template:Taxonomy/Erebidae, but this request doesn't say what you want changed on this template. If you want to change something on an article about a species please do so on the talk page of that article. — xaosflux Talk 15:24, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you do have a specific change you want made on this template - please put in exactly what text you want changed FROM and TO, as if you could edit it yourself. — xaosflux Talk 15:26, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To editors Kevinliam and Xaosflux: these taxo templates can be puzzling sometimes. The family was changed in the reference at Template:Taxonomy/Cuculliinae. So it's been changed in that template and reflected in the automatic taxobox in the Cuculliinae article. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 15:56, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Kevinliam (talk) 13:25, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
