Buckingham

[edit]

I am not sure that it is right to include a future by-election in Buckingham in this template. Although it has been reported that John Bercow will stand down in 2019 this has not been confirmed. Equally there is no guarantee that the end of his speakership will lead to a by-election. Although he may well resign as an MP creating a by-election it could equally be that like Bernard Weatherill and others he chooses not to stand at a future general election and thus the speakership becomes vacant without the need for a by-election. Equally, while modern tradition dictates a retiring speaker immediately leaves the commons it is theoretically possible that he could continue to sit as an MP after being speaker. Another possibility is he could loose his seat at a future general election. I am not suggesting that any of these options are particularly strong, but the point is we cannot be certain that there will be a Buckingham by-election and therefore it seems pointless to include in the template at this stage.
