The whole point in creating a template is that it can be very easily transcluded onto any number of pages. As this template is currently transcluded onto a single page (United Nations System), and it is not likely that it will be transcluded onto other pages, I suggest moving the code itself there and deleting the template. That would achieve the same result, and require less space.-- = ? 08:55, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
- hm, actually it was transcluded onto 2 pages.. oh, now I understand; somebody undid my edit by mistake. Now it is used on 2 pages again =) — Allrounder (talk) 18:41, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- Well, that is still a very small number, and I really don't know what type of pages would benefit from having this template. Do we really need it? -- = ? 19:51, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- hm, idk.. I think this way (with the template) is better, because now changes on the template will affect all articles. When sb wants to change sth, it should affect every article - that would save time and enable consistency. I think there's no big problem with a template.. Would it be really better to delete it and copy it into the articles? And why? — Allrounder (talk) 20:18, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- What you say is true of templates in general - this specific template is transcluded to a mere two articles. Let me put this another way: Can you think of a dozen or so articles that need this template? Otherwise there is little use for it.-- = ? 20:42, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- No, but even if it is included in only two articles, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Why should it be better to delete this template and copy the content into the articles? I don't see any advantage with it. And the disadvantages of it I have already pointed out above... — Allrounder (talk) 14:31, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
