The Unbelievable GwenPool: Lost in the Plot is a five-issue existentialist comic book graphic novel written by Christopher Hastings and drawn by Irene Strychalski and Gurihiru as the fifth volume of The Unbelievable GwenPool.[1] Published by Marvel Comics as a part of Marvel Legacy, and comprising the storylines Doom Sees You (following on from Infamous Iron Man) and Lost in the Plot, the story revolves around Gwen Poole as she uses her new "powers" to explore the "Gutter" between the reality of the comic-book medium.[2][3]

Summary

[edit]

"Doom Sees You"

[edit]

The comic follows Gwen Poole following the defeat of Dark Gwen, as she attempts to use her new "powers" to defeat Doctor Doom, unaware of his redemption since her initial entry to Earth-616 in 2015.[4]

"Lost in the Plot"

[edit]

The comic follows Gwen as she makes one last-ditch effort for relevance, helping Batroc in pulling a heist on Chance, before she faces her future.

Reception

[edit]

The volume received universally positive reviews.[5][6][7][8][9]

In other media

[edit]

In the 2017 video game Marvel Contest of Champions, Gwenpool's interactions with Doctor Doom adapt their interactions from "Doom Sees You", with her describing him as looking like "War Machine wearing a hoodie".[10]
