Tursko Wielkie[3][4][5] [ˈturskɔ ˈvjɛlkʲɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Osiek, within Staszów County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in south-central Poland. It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-west of Osiek, 19 km (12 mi) south-east of Staszów, and 72 km (45 mi) south-east of the regional capital Kielce.[6]
The village has a population of 352.
The village is the location of the Battle of Tursko during the Mongol invasion.
Demography
[edit]According to the 2002 Poland census, there were 346 people residing in Tursko Wielkie village, of whom 52.3% were male and 47.7% were female. In the village, the population was spread out, with 24.8% under the age of 18, 36.2% from 18 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who were 65 years of age or older.[2]
