Discipline[edit]

Fair play points will be used as a tiebreaker if the head-to-head and overall records of teams are tied (and if a penalty shoot-out is not applicable as a tiebreaker). These are calculated based on yellow and red cards received in all group matches as follows:[3]

  • yellow card = 1 point
  • red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points
  • direct red card = 3 points
  • yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points

Only one of the above deductions will be applied to a player or team official in a single match.

Team Match 1 Match 2 Match 3 Points

 Slovenia 3[a] 2 –5
 Serbia 3 4 –7
  1. ^ a b A yellow card was given to Slovenia technical director Milivoje Novaković in the 70th minute.[13] It is not included in the official match report, but is listed in the UEFA booking list.[14] Cautions given to team officials are also taken into account for tiebreaking purposes per article 20.01 in the tournament regulations.[3]
