Evaluate an article[edit]

This is where you will complete your article evaluation. Please use the template below to evaluate your selected article.

I chose this article to evaluate because I like to travel often so I thought it would be an interesting topic to research an airline, and Hawaiian Airlines was a Wikipedia page that was a C class so I can add onto the information in the page.

Lead[edit]

Guiding questions

Yes the lead includes a sentence in the beginning that explains to the reader what exactly the article is about. They include a few different sections in the article, like the history of the airline, places it travels to, and accidents it has been in. Some of the sections are a little overly detailed but overall it has just enough information for the reader to understand and get even knowledge about the Hawaiian airline.

  • Does the Lead include an introductory sentence that concisely and clearly describes the article's topic?
  • Does the Lead include a brief description of the article's major sections?
  • Does the Lead include information that is not present in the article?
  • Is the Lead concise or is it overly detailed?

Lead evaluation[edit]

The introduction sentence introduces the airline in a great way for the reader to get an understanding of it. It is not overly detailed but it has enough detail to get information you need.

Tone and Balance[edit]

Guiding questions
The article does seem like it is informative. It's not opinionated at all and only contains facts that have been sited on other websites or articles, therefore it is neutral. There are no claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position and none of the viewpoints are over or under-represented. No part of the article seems to try to persuade the reader into doing or thinking something about the airline.

  • Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
  • Does the article attempt to persuade the reader in favor of one position or away from another?
