Gino Vanelli' (26 March 1896, Bergamo - 9 April 1969, Monza) was an Italian operatic baritone.

Born in Bergamo, Vanelli studied at the Donizetti Conservatory in his native city and with Dante Lari in Milan. He made his professional opera debut in Bergamo in 1917 as Perichaud in Giacomo Puccini's La Rondine at the Teatro Donizetti. In 1919 he portrayed Barone Douphol in Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata and the Count di Luna in Verdi's Il trovatore at the Teatro Olimpia in Bassano del Grappa. In 1920 he sang the role of Don Carlos in Verdi's La forza del destino in Lodi and the role of Lescaut in Puccini's Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Sociale in Casalmonferrato. He returned to Lodi soon after to sing the roles of Count di Luna and Giannotto in Pietro Mascagni's Lodoletta.

In 1921 Vanelli portrayed Hermann in Alfredo Catalani's Loreley at the Teatro Comunale in Forli, and in 1922 he sang Sharpless in Puccini's Madama Butterfly at the Politeama Verdi in Cremona. In 1923 he performed the role ofTonio in Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci at the Teatro all'Aperto in L'Aquila. In 1924 he toured Egypt where he appeared at the Cairo Opera House and at the Teatro Alhambra of Alessandria in ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’ as Lord Enrico Ashton. That same year he toured to Brazil. In 1925 he performed at the Teatro Real in Madrid and appeared as Marcello in Puccini's La bohème at the Teatro Principal in Palma di Majorca.

In 1926 he was engaged at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, where he had great success during the following year 1926 he reached the Teatro alla Scala (first role: Ping in "Turandot")., at which he appeared several times in the two decades to 1946 . At the Teatro Costanzi in Rome, he sang the 1926 Escamillo in "Carmen" with Maria Gay as a partner. He has appeared at the Teatro Fenice Venice, Genoa and Bologna, Bergamo, Turin and Parma and worked in 1932 at the Rome Opera in the world premiere the opera "La Donna serpente" of A.Casella, 1934, the opera "Cecilia" by L.Refice with. At the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, he participated in the first performances of Argentine operas "Chrysanthemum" by Peacan del Sar and others (1927) and "Frenos" by RH Espoile (1928) part. He sang in the Erstauführungen the opera "Turandot" by Puccini (1926), "Fra Gherardo" by Pizzetti (1928), "Le Preziose ridicole" by Lattuada and "La campana sommersa "of O.Respighi. He also appeared at the opera houses of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. 1935 and 1941 he toured in Holland. In 1951 he participated in the Festival of Verona, 1952, he sang at the Wexford Festival in Ireland the Belcore in "Elisir d'amore" by Donizetti, 1954 at the Teatro della News Bergamo in the world premiere of the modern opera "Allamistakeo" by Giulio Viozzi and later in performances of this opera in Venedig.Schallplatten: a recording on HMV, many Columbia plates (including complete operas "La Boheme", "Pagliacci" and "Madame Butterfly" with Rosetta Pampanini as butterfly).

In 1924 he appeared at the Teatro Alhambra of Alessandria in ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’. From 1926 to 1928 he appeared at La Scala singing in ‘’Manon’’, ‘’Boheme’’ and ‘’ Hansel e Gretell’’. At the Teatro Costanzi in Rome he sang in 1934 as Alfio in ‘’Cavalleria rusticana’’. In 1932 he appeared at the opera house of Rome in the premiere of the opera ‘’La of Donna Serpente’’ of A. Casella, two years later in L. Refice’s opera ‘’Cecilia’’. In the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires he took among other things in the premieres of the Argentine operas ’’Chrysanthemum’’ of Peacan del Sar (1927) and ‘’Frenos’’ of R. H. Espoile (1928). Probably he retired from the stage in 1952.
