After Greg leaves, Sophie's mother, Jane Griffin, warns her that her father has gone to the pub. Sophie explains to her friends that whenever her father goes to the pub, he would bet on the horses, and if he loses, he comes home angry. When Greg hears about his father he suddenly becomes afraid, as if he blames himself for his dad's actions.

Sophie's father, simply known as Mr. Griffin, then arrives and confronts her friends, telling them to leave. After Sophie rushes to her bedroom, her mother comes in with his dinner. But accidently she stumbles and spills the food over the floor, to the disgust of Mr. Griffin. Before any physical harm can be done to Jane however, the narrator steps in and stops them. The two then address to the audience of their actions, and that Mr. Griffin needs help. Finally the narrator asks the audience to support their cause and stop women's abuse once and for all.
