Source 1: Welfare reform on Reservations in Arizona[1]

This piece discusses welfare social services used by American Indian families. Within the United States these American Indian families live on specialized areas known as "reservations." The author states that American Indian families take longer to "move up the social ladder" and depart from social welfare, when compared to other American families who are also on governmental/state welfare. The article presents data which showcase the importance of socioeconomic resources for those who wish to get rid of dependence on welfare, and much more that needs to be done to assist these specific families.

Source 2:The problem of Transportation to Medical Facilities on an Indian Reservation [2]

This journal article talks about the issue of transportation for American Indians living in reservations. The author says that many of these American Indian families have trouble getting to a hospital with ease. They usually struggle to get to a hospital on time, from a lack of a reliable public transportation system, high fees, and long distances with bad climate. The author argues that proper health care combines every aspect, including getting to a health facility without trouble.
