The prominent villages are Fattepur ,Ausatpur, Raipur(Paliya),Mathiya, Manajit, Brahim Chak,,Sarounda,Aldemau, Paliaya Karmi, Raipur etc.This is a historical place and has history dating back to 300 years. The town having mix of hindu and muslim religion. It is 35 KM for from Azamgarh city and 29 KM far from MAU city. It is situated on the state highway between Azamgarh and Gazipur.
